通过军人与天皇政府在停战决定上的冲突体现了在意识形态层面统治者与被统治者的主仆辩证关系。军人打着天皇的旗号不肯停战，却与已经透露停战意向的天皇背道而驰，足以说明作战到底的军国主义信念并非以天皇为目的，而是对帝国理想的救赎。而天皇，只是这理想的象征物。
