整体平庸，对珀尔心境的转变全部都是常规写法，只是包装成了好莱坞黄金时代的歌舞片风格，主要体现在调色，服装，布景和字幕上。暴力场面是强行带出的，而非由叙事生发。大段独白备受好评，但我看来比较一般，主要归结于镜头的表现力不强。若无米娅高斯撑着，这片一无是处。
